mygooi™ said it has named Ron Aylward to be global director of business development for its gooisocial media platform.
“We’re pleased to be able to draw on Ron’s strong international background,” said CEO Paul N. Greenwood, noting Aylward was most recently director of international franchise operations for health-and-wellness product retailer GNC Holdings.
“Our initial focus will be the SMB market in Latin America,” said Aylward. “The gooisocial media app is an incredibly useful tool for small and medium businesses to connect with customers. It is a steadily improving, business to business to customer tool, which develops a network that builds customer awareness and involvement.
“Businesses and customers can work closely together using gooisocial. It’s a great way for a customer who needs a product or service to connect with a business that has good reviews from trusted sources. It saves them time and effort, and they can negotiate right on their smart devices. Plus businesses can get immediate feedback on how well they’re doing, which gives them the opportunity to enhance performance.”
Greenwood noted that mygooi is developing exciting features it will be adding to the gooisocial platform over the next few months.
Aylward, who will be based in Florida, said he plans to have an advisory board in place by the end of the year, with members representing Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and South America. “The board will provide insights on how to serve the region better,” he said, adding that once Latin American operations are in place, he will be looking to opportunities in Asia’s SMB market.
Aylward led specialty retailer Starbucks Coffee Company’s international license division as vice president of operations and was regional director for chocolate-maker Godiva’s Midwest division before going to GNC.
